One of the first questions new patients ask is: “How long does a physical therapy session last?” It’s a great question—because knowing what to expect helps you feel more prepared, more comfortable, and more confident when starting your care.
At Fluid Physio, we do things a little differently than most physical therapy clinics. We believe in giving you the time and attention your body deserves. That’s why all of our regular physical therapy sessions are 60 minutes long, and your first visit—the initial evaluation—is 90 minutes. This gives us the space to focus, listen, and work with purpose from the start.
Why Your First Visit Is 90 Minutes Long
Your first visit with us isn’t just about paperwork or quick assessments—it’s a deep dive into how your body moves and how we can help it move better. During this 90-minute evaluation, we’ll take time to get to know you, review your medical history, observe how you move, and identify the root cause of your symptoms.
We’ll also begin treatment right away, so you don’t have to wait to start feeling better. The extended time allows us to build a complete picture and design a plan that’s tailored specifically to you.
Most Follow-Up Sessions Are 60 Minutes
After your initial evaluation, you’ll begin regular visits that last about 60 minutes each. These sessions include hands-on work, guided exercises, movement training, and ongoing assessments to track your progress.
This hour-long format gives you the consistency, personalization, and focused attention needed for real results. No double-booking. No being passed between providers. Just a full hour of expert, one-on-one care that’s all about you.
Shorter Visits in Special Cases
While most of our sessions are an hour long, there are some exceptions:
30-minute visits: In certain cases—like when you’re tapering down or focusing on a specific area of progress—your therapist may recommend a shorter follow-up session.
15-minute laser therapy: If you’re only coming in for deep tissue laser therapy, the treatment itself is quick and effective. These visits typically take just 15 minutes, and can be scheduled easily around your other appointments.
Even in shorter sessions, our focus on quality never changes. Every visit is designed to move you closer to your goals.
Why Longer, Personalized Care Matters
At Fluid Physio, we believe that healing takes time—not just in terms of recovery, but in how we work with your body. By spending more time with each patient, we’re able to dig deeper, treat smarter, and adjust your plan in real time based on how you’re progressing.
We don’t rush through sessions. We don’t cut corners. And we don’t believe in quick fixes. We believe in building better movement, long-term health, and genuine results—one visit at a time.
