Traveling Blues

With the holidays comes travel. Whether it’s by car or plane or boat you may find yourself having to endure some uncomfortable sitting. Here’s some tips to help you cope:

  1. Support. A small towel rolled up or even your sweater or jacket can give your lower back just enough support to make it more manageable.

  2. Breaks. Walk around a little even if it means pulling over for a brief moment or people looking at you funny because you keep walking up and down the aisle.

  3. Extend. Once you stand up, do small backbends or extensions to undo what the seat has done to your body and promote movement through your stiff joints.

  4. Move. Plan a workout, stretching or even a small walk once you get to your final destination.
