About the event

Most of us have heard references to the vagus nerve and the growing conversation around nervous system regulation. From podcasts to wellness influencers, we are told there are ways to “hack” our way into balance—but is that actually possible? What does regulation truly feel like? Does it mean being calm and completely “zen,” or does it also include feeling energized, alert, and focused? And when we’ve tried a few vagus nerve exercises with mixed results—does that mean we’re doing them wrong?


In this workshop, Dr. Carrie Patterson Besler and Dr. Gianna Bigliani will bring clarity to this complex and often misunderstood topic. Together, they’ll explore how our bodies and histories shape our nervous system, why one-size-fits-all approaches often fall short, and how the path toward regulation is both highly individual and deeply human.
